Are you a pure vegetarian or what we call vegan but still love to eat desserts like cakes and pastries? Have you faced embarrassment & isolation while going to your friends’ birthday parties or any other occasion? Then this blog is for you.
Well, let’s come back to our discussion. We were talking about vegan cake lovers. So here is a list of common phrases these people confront or hear in their daily life:-
This is all hypocrisy
Vegans often come to hear this phrase frequently when they go to birthday parties when they avoid eating cakes or enquire whether it contains eggs or not. This is quite common with the ladies and old people who eat cakes but only the eggless one.
‘Kabhi toh khaya hi hoga’
Other cake lovers just can’t believe that a person can live without cakes made with egg batter and hence secretly try to inquire whether you have left eating egg cakes recently or would have tasted it at least once.
There is no such thing as an eggless cake
Most of the people still believe that a cake always contains eggs and that an eggless cake is just a fantasy. They often say, “Cake is not for vegans like you.”
Cake without eggs is just a bread
Even if some of them finally agree that a cake can be baked without eggs and that exists something like eggless cake, most of them regard eggless cakes as those of low quality and sarcastically refer it as ‘sweet bread’. They are not ready to believe that an eggless cake too can be tasty.
So you are a typical Pandit/ Jain
It is a common stereotype that a person who does not eat eggs is either a Brahmin or a Jain. Why? Can’t a Brahmin eat eggs and why a vegan person needs to be a Pandit or a Jain.
Whatever be the situation, people will never stop gossiping and spreading rumours with their small brain and large mouth. You just let them go and enjoy a wide variety of eggless cakes in all flavours and price range, sitting on your bedroom sofa.
